An iPhone that is the only device
Because the account is held by the platform and not by the handset, replacing a phone is uneventful. Signing in on the new device brings back the same account, and nothing needs to be exported from the old one first. An iPad, if there is one, opens the same account rather than a second setup.
A phone-only arrangement has real limits worth knowing. Detailed chart reading across several instruments is uncomfortable on a small screen, and that is a good reason to open the browser platform on any larger machine that becomes available, rather than a reason to buy anything.
Ethiopia keeps UTC+3 through the year, placing the London open in the late morning and the New York open in the afternoon. Those hours are spent away from a desk for most people, which is precisely where a phone is at its strongest.
